Planet Problems

If humans tried to live on Jupiter their main problem would be a lack of oxygen. People need oxygen to breathe and survive. After 5 minutes to without oxygen they would be brain dead.

One possible solution to our problem could be that we build a pipe that is connected to earth and pumps the air to Jupiter.

Another way to solve the problem is to plant lots of trees on Jupiter. We would also need is water and Sunshine so that they grow

We could also generate our own oxygen using 10 million oxygen generating machines that are positioned around Jupiter. The machines would be powered by Jupiter’s large storms

The best solution to the problem of there being no oxygen on Jupiter is making an oxygen generating machine. These machines create atmosphere on Jupiter that is the same as Earth humans will be able to Breath, play and line their lives happily.

Making our own air will be hard but will be worth it to live on Jupiter.

AFL

Running and bouncing a ball was pretty awkward. Room 13 and I were playing Aussie rules. We had to get into groups of 2 so we did, I wanted to be by myself but I wasn’t allowed.

As we were warming up for jumper bumber,I didn’t know how to play and didn’t have a partner, so i just bumped into Lee.

I found the weather changeable because every single minute the weather changes from rainy and cold, to sunny and windy.

Our game for this day was Kick Baseball. Megan an Elyase tought us how to play kick baseball we had to kick the ball and bounce the ball. I kicked the ball high in the sky.

We had an awesome time at Aussie rules it is cool

Black out day

It was with huge, excitement that I got my dressed for school today. It was Black Out Day. Black Out Day was to show our support for the All Blacks on the opening day of the Rugby World Cup.

Running down the footpath, I shouted "Stop", as I saw my friend. On my way to school, most people I saw were wearing black. Coins jingled in my pocket as I bounced about excitedly - I was going to buy a sausage for my lunch.

Arriving at school, I noticed, that even the teachers were wearing all black. Miss Tito and Miss Va’afusuaga even had black wigs on and also had painted faces. I love it when our whole school gets behind an idea.

At assembly, Mr Burt kept telling stories. They were about the times when he was at rugby game and he was not wearing his hat. Lots of yucky things would fall on his head and even end up in his car. I love Mr Burt’s stories, he is a great storyteller.

For fun, in our classroom we painted some All Black players. Each group found their smallest member and we traced around them. Next, we painted our players black so that they were wearing the All Blacks uniform. It was fun, I like painting.

After morning tea our classrooms all went to the courts to play some rugby games. The sun was shining and the sevens boys had set up some fun looking games. I was in team Russia.

Playing out on the field, the big boys taught us lots of rugby skills. Tackling, kicking and throwing were just some. My favourite game was the tackle bag obstacle course. I loved it because I got to knock Feki over!

After all the games it was lunchtime. I ate my sausage under the shade of some trees - it felt like summertime.

I had such a great black out day and I really hope that the All Blacks can win tonight. My brother is supporting Tonga, but I don’t know if they can win.

Cross Country

The smell grew stronger as we approached Ms Squires. It wasn’t her that was stinky, but a feathery dead bird on the track at Pt England School’s Cross Country.

As we walked to the start line, we were filled with nervous excitement. This year it was a new, and much longer course - heaps of people would be watching too! “Take your marks!” instructed Mr Burt and off we took with determination and perseverance.

Running over the rocks, my legs began to feel like wobbly jelly and my lungs were bursting. Oh no! This was only the beginning!

Twisting and turning along the winding path, the race felt never ending. “Ouch, Ouch” I said over and over ,my feet were killing me. I had lost my shoes at the start and running in my socks was painful.

My spirits lifted as I spied Miss Va’afusuaga and Feki dancing at finish line. I gave a burst of speed and collapsed over the line, relieved and exhausted.

Excitement spread across my face as I knew this horrible day was finally over. Oh No! I nearly forgot - we have to do it alla gain next year.

Badminton

Sitting down, room 13 watched as Donna was demonstrating how to play bandminton. Serving a shuttle right directly at them, it spiralled in the air like a bird.I found it awkward to do the trick shot so I started to to cheat by lifting my leg up.
Whirring and Whizzing, I did a powerful hit ,BANG! The shuttle flew up to the roof and shotback down.
I targeted my partner, like a missile, I was focused on the shuttle.

Back to the Future

Reversing out of the driveway, tyres screeching and starting to go flat, when Marty, looking worried said “ Hey Doc, we’d better back up. We don’t have enough road to get to 88.” Jennifer looking scared, as she held tightly to Marty. Doc said “Roads we don’t need roads.” as he was adjusting his glasses. Off they went with a boost of rocket fire.

When the Delorean took off with a burst of fire it started to go to the land of future. Are you guys crazy i want to go back home” shouted Jennifer, "Trust me" Doc said.

The Beep Test

Beep Test Room 13 from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Yesterday at the beep test we had to run. While we ran the speaker says what level you are.You can only get up to level 19 so you won’t get tired and don’t run out of breath. If you don’t go over the yellow line before the beep then you’re out. I made it to level 8.

Footwash

People use the drinking fountain for there feet so we made a foot wash so nobody will wash thier feet in the drinking fountain. If we go on the muddy field and when its time to go back to class and if don't wash our feet our teachers mite get angry and angry if we don't wash our feet.
So we decided to design a foot bath outside in our bay with a really strong tap to get rid of the mud.

We chose this so we don't go to class with muddy feet and put mud stain the carpet.

This idea is better then the other one cause it is old rusty and we don’t like to be in a old school.

Straw Tower

75 straws and a roll of tape, do you think you have the cofindence to make a tall tower with 75 straws? This challenge was for our first morning of Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger. When room 13 and I were making our tower, we were planing to make a tall tower. We had to be in groups of 6 or groups of 7.
Item ThumbnailItem Thumbnail
As soon we made our tower we put it on a table so it won’t fall down. When we made the straws at the bottom we made it so strong that it never fell down. When me and my friend Brandon made a cruddy tower and it kept on falling down on the ground. So we did another one that we tried to make tall so we could come first.

Space

THE MOON
is there life on the moon.
they took there own air and water.
When they came back they had they own living thing.
when they came back they didn’t soil.
Is there life on the moon?
Living things need water and air but there are none of these things on the moon. There wrere 3 men in 1969 who went around the moon and landed on it. They took there own air and water. The men were picking up soil and when they came back their were none of the soil.

On Tuesday 22nd February 2011 Christchurch was shaken by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, of 5km depth, at 12. 51 pm.

Yesterday’s earthquake was very destructive, very dangerous, powerful and intense. Some people in Christchurch have died, more than 65 people are dead, some of them have been trapped and are trying to get out. There is hope that there will still be survivors amongst them.
This heart breaking, 6.3 magnitude quake has almost reached as far away as Greymouth.
