Christ church earthquake

On Tuesday 22nd February 2011 Christchurch was shaken by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, of 5km depth, at 12. 51 pm.

Yesterday’s earthquake was very destructive, very dangerous, powerful and intense. Some people in Christchurch have died, more than 65 people are dead, some of them have been trapped and are trying to get out. There is hope that there will still be survivors amongst them.
This heart breaking, 6.3 magnitude quake has almost reached as far away as Greymouth.
Prime Minister, John Key has said that this is New Zealands darkest day,
Many people are feared trapped in collapsed buildings, heaps of people are injured, Rescuers are trying their best to take them to safety
Makeshift hospitals have been set up in parks and on the sides of roads, wherever people need help.
